How this works
- It runs on your device. The verifier is a small WebAssembly program. Your record never leaves your browser.
- It checks two things. First, that the record's contents still match the fingerprint taken when it was sealed — so you know nothing was altered. Second, that the seal's digital signature was made by Athena Systems North Star's production key.
- The trust comes from the key, not this page. North Star's public signing key is built into the verifier. A forged record can't pass unless it was signed by the real key — which lives in a hardware security module and never leaves it.
This checks a single record. Auditors who need to walk an entire sealed history end-to-end can use the command-line verifier.
